Solar power is the alteration of sunlight into electrical energy, either directly using photovoltaic (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking techniques to focus a huge area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaic changes light into electric current using the photoelectric effect. Each of these two types of solar energy needs the manufacture of two discrete kinds of solar panels.
One is named a solar collector which is used to heat up water and then stock it in a tank for dispersal when wanted. The other type of panel is called a solar panel, or more officially, a photovoltaic panel. Solar panels gather the light waves from the Sun and switch it into direct current electricity, which can then be changed to alternating current using an inverter. Resolute Solar Power (CSP) systems utilize lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a huge part of sunlight into a little ray.
